A Single Girl’s Guide to WDW: Top 10 Ways to Celebrate Galentine’s Day (Part 1)

by casey bolt Feb 12, 2021

February can be a month jam-packed with hearts, flowers, and lots of romance for couples in love! A lot of singles joke that it’s a rough month for us but I tend to disagree. Recently, the addition of “Galentine’s Day” celebrations has brought a whole new way for singles to look at the month that seemed to be solely reserved for those who found themselves twitterpated! Galentine’s Day allows you to celebrate your own “Fab 5” who has had your back through thick and thin with special gifts, parties, and even trips that can lead to life-long memories.

So why not create a top ten list of ways that ladies (and gentlemen) can treat themselves at Walt Disney World to celebrate Galentine’s Day? One thing to note- this list does not only apply to Galentine’s Day celebrations. These are great ideas for booking girl’s trips, bachelorette parties, and more.

  1. Top of the World Brunch at California Grill

Okay, this is my FAVORITE item on this list and it’s horrible to admit that the number one option is currently unavailable due to COVID restrictions. This signature brunch is only offered on Sundays at the top floor of Disney’s Contemporary Resort. The views alone make this meal magical but that’s not all- bottomless mimosas, instrumental Disney jazz played by a live band, and a perfect combination of all-you-can-eat buffet and a la carte menu items make this the meal of your dreams.

  1. Eating/Drinking around the World Showcase at Epcot (preferably during a Festival)

Another fabulous and fun way to treat yourself during a Galentine’s Day celebration is with a visit to Epcot to eat and/or drink around the World Showcase! If you are visiting during February, you would be doing so during the Taste of Epcot International Festival of the Arts which means even more delicious food and drink to choose from.

  1. Adult Character Couture Makeover with Afternoon Tea at Garden View Tea Room at Disney’s Grand Floridian Resort

This is another option that’s currently unavailable but keep it in the back of your mind for future visits because it’s a magical one. If you’re like me, you are green with envy at all the little Disney princesses who get to experience the royal treatment from the Fairy Godmothers at Bibbidi Bobbidi Boutique. Imagine my excitement when they announced the adult version of this experience available at several resort salons on property! I think a magical way to spend an afternoon with your gal pals would be to visit Ivy Trellis for a Character Couture makeover at Disney’s Grand Floridian Resort and then head downstairs for Afternoon Tea at the Garden View Tea Room. The nostalgia of having a dress-up tea party with your girlfriends is the perfect way to celebrate Galentine’s Day at this resort designed for a princess. And don’t forget- the best part about an adult tea party is you can add a glass of bubbly to your tray!

  1. Rent a Cabana at a Disney Resort Pool

If you are like me, then you usually need another vacation after you get home from your Walt Disney World trips because you ran a million miles an hour with little sleep and no downtime. Make an intentional effort to relax on your trip by renting a private cabana at a Disney resort pool!

You can rent cabanas for a full or half-day and they are available at several WDW resorts. You’ll want to double-check prior to making your selection as some resorts are available to book for any on-property guests while others are available to guests of that resort specifically. Each will have unique amenities and atmosphere that will allow you to indulge and realize that a Walt Disney World vacation can be relaxing too!

  1. Spa Day at Disney Resort

Prefer to do your relaxing indoors? We’ve got you covered there, too! How about a spa day at one of Walt Disney World’s amazing resort spas? Several on- property resorts feature both spas and fitness centers so you can enjoy some pampering on your Galentine’s getaway.

Many of the spas feature a full range of treatments including massages, facials, therapies, and salon services. Due to COVID-19 restrictions, many of the on-property spas have not yet reopened but the Mandara Spa at the Walt Disney Dolphin Hotel is currently open and available to book services.

Hope you enjoyed part one of “A Single Girls Guide to WDW” and found some new ideas of ways to enjoy your happy place on your next visit! Stay tuned for part two and the last half of our list next week!
